Lake Cumberland Performing Arts, in partnership with The Center for Rural Development, is pleased to announce the new season for the 2016-2017 School Time Theatre performing arts series.
The new season features fun, exciting performances from some of America’s favorite storybook and animated television characters from the award-winning Fred Rogers Company and PBS KIDS.
Professional actors from the nation’s top touring companies will bring their stories to life on stage in the new season of School Time Theatre.
Performances are open to schools and students from pre-kindergarten through 5th-grade, as well as the general public.
Reservations are accepted online at centertech.com or by clicking on the “purple” registration button listed for the corresponding time for each show.
Admission is $4 per person for each performance.
Schools and individuals planning to attend an upcoming School Time Theatre performance are encouraged to reserve their seats well in advance, due to the popularity and demand for some of this season’s shows.

In celebration of Beatrix Potter’s 150th birthday anniversary, Enchantment Theatre Company, in collaboration with the Estate of Beatrix Potter and Penguin Books UK, brings her captivating stories to life in this authorized theatrical version of PETER RABBIT™ TALES.

The legacy of the beloved Mister Rogers Neighborhood lives on with the award-winning television series, Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood, from The Fred Rogers Company and PBS KIDS. Now, Daniel and his friends are hopping aboard the trolley and invite the audience on an interactive musical adventure as they explore their much-loved Neighborhood of Make-Believe. The neighbors share stories of friendship, helping others and celebrating new experiences in this live theatrical production.

The Ugly Duckling

It’s hard being different! The ugly duckling is the child of a swan whose egg accidentally rolled into a duck’s nest. When the strange egg showed up in Mama Duck’s nest and hatched, a very ugly duckling was born. This little duckling is perceived by the other ducklings as a homely little creature and does not “fit in.” He soon realizes that he must learn to love himself before he can discover who he really is. This story is beloved around the world as a tale about personal transformation for the better.
