If you took our Excel 2007 Basic class held earlier this summer or are interested in expanding your computer skills in Microsoft Office Excel, The Center for Rural Development’s Your Center of Learning will be offering an Excel 2007 Intermediate class in July.
Two other courses—Word 2010 Basic and Transforming to Office 2010 from 2003—also will be offered in the newest round of one-day, instructor-led training classes to be presented by Your Center of Learning, The Center’s workforce- and career-training program.
A brief description of the latest scheduled training courses to be delivered by The Center is as follows:
- Excel 2007 Intermediate (July 8) – Students will learn how to use multiple worksheets and workbooks efficiently, and they will start working with more advanced formatting options, including styles, themes, backgrounds, and watermarks. They also will learn how to create outlines and subtotals, how to create and apply cell names, and how to work with lists and tables.
- Word 2010 Basic (July 12) – This course covers the basic functions and features of Word 2010. After an introduction of Word’s window components, students will learn how to use the Help system and navigate documents. They will enter and edit text, create and save documents, and learn how to enhance the appearance of a document by using various formatting options. They will also create tables, insert headers and footers, proof and print documents, and insert graphs.
- Transforming to Office 2010 from 2003 (July 20) – Students will work with the new and updated features of Microsoft Office 2010.
All courses will be held from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. at The Center, located at 2292 South U.S. 27 (at Traffic Light 15) in Somerset. The cost of each course is $149 per person unless otherwise noted.
