Hi Friends!
I’m McKinzie Loutre, the Events Coordinator here at The Center for Rural Development. Many of you may not be aware, but we offer a full range of wedding consultation services to help couples plan and coordinate every last detail leading up to their special day. In today’s Wednesday Wedding Wisdom, I’m going to look at 2019 Wedding Trends Every Bride Should Know About.
We have officially entered, engagement season! I’m sure you are already experiencing Facebook and Instagram feeds flooded with beautiful proposal pics and engagement announcements and if any of you are one of those lucky ladies, that means you’ll be in full planning mode for a wedding in 2019. We all know the countless decisions that need to be made and you’ve probably already began digging through bridal magazines, pinning on Pinterest, and scrolling through #weddingideas on Instagram. To help focus your list of ideas, I’ve rounded up 5 of my favorite wedding trends for 2019.
1. A return to simple, classic wedding gowns
If you’re a minimalist like me, you can rejoice because 2019 will bring the return of classic designs and simple styles. Think clean lines with no embellishment. Asymmetrical designs are also proving to be popular, i.e. high-low or slanted hemlines, one-shoulder silhouettes, and other geometric patterns and shapes.
2. Non-traditional menswear
Many grooms are leaving traditional tuxedos behind and featuring suits that pair different fabrics and patterns together. Not only that, but you can expect bold and bright colors in place of traditional greys, blacks, and blues.
3. Lavish food spreads and interactive food stations
While sit-down dinners will always be popular for certain weddings, more and more couples are getting creative with the food they serve. Expect to see lavish food spreads or grazing tables with delicious breads, meats, cheeses, nuts and fruits as well as interactive food stations in replace of traditional buffets. Popular examples include custom pizzas, taco stands, popcorn bars, and s’mores bars.
4. Artistic edible displays and lavish wedding cakes
Included in the creative food choices for weddings are desserts. 2019 will welcome impressive cake and dessert creations that not only satisfy the sweet tooth, but add to the aesthetics of the wedding as a whole. Metallic touches, personalized monograms, and show-stopping decorative touches will take guests’ breath away.
5. Bringing the outdoors in
Abundant greenery will continue to be a big part of wedding ceremony and reception décor in 2019. We’ll see a more colorful selection of flowers in rich jewel-tones to create a more whimsical and romantic vibe. I love the idea of greenery garland draped along tables and railings, as well as hanging floral arrangements and flower walls.
