The Center for Rural Development team participated in the fifth annual PRIDE (Personal Responsibility in a Desireable Environment) Clean Sweep of U.S. 27.
Last month, staff members and PRIDE volunteers picked up roadside litter on the property and along the state right-of-way in front of the building on South U.S. 27.
“Clean roads make a good first impression on visitors, and they make our drives around town more enjoyable, too,” said Lonnie Lawson, president and CEO of The Center for Rural Development, a Clean Sweep partner. “The Center staff members are proud to support the Clean Sweep by hosting the volunteer lunch and by volunteering to pick up litter.”
During the month of April, Spring Cleanup Month, approximately 25,000- PRIDE volunteers will pick up roadside litter across Southern and Eastern Kentucky.
