The Appalachian Rural Development Philanthropy Initiative (ARDPI) has released a promotional video that will bring increased awareness to the value of community foundations in the Eastern Kentucky Appalachian region.

The video—made possible through grant funding from the Appalachian Regional Commission— was created by The Center for Rural Development’s Initiative partner Blue Grass Community Foundation and Bullhorn Creative, a market branding company in Lexington.

ARDPI is committed to helping distressed counties of Eastern Kentucky build the capacity to capture financial assets that will provide the long-term resources for community transformation. This work encourages citizen leaders to promote a culture of philanthropy and to create structures such as community foundations that will secure these assets for generations to come.

The Initiative is a collaborative effort between The Center, Brushy Fork Institute, Blue Grass Community Foundation, Foundation for Appalachian Kentucky, the Foundation for the Tri-State Community, Inc., and Endow Kentucky Commission.
