Terry Randall and Jeff Parmelee of Total Rehab Center—winners of the 2012 Excellence in Entrepreneurship Awards (EIEA) —were recognized on Friday at an EIEA Hometown Event.
The small business owners and entrepreneurs celebrated their win in the For-Profit Small Business category at a luncheon and reception at Total Rehab Center on Medpark Drive.
Randall and Parmelee were presented the EIEA award last month at a luncheon program and regional awards presentation hosted at The Center for Rural Development in Somerset.
The EIEA program was established in 2001 to recognize small business owners, entrepreneurs, and non-profit organizations in Southern and Eastern Kentucky for their successful business accomplishments and entrepreneurial spirit.
Total Rehab Center is a locally owned private practice dedicated to delivering state-of-the-art physical therapy services to patients in the Lake Cumberland area.
The center began in 2002, providing care to patients in a rented space in Somerset. In 2008, Total Rehab Center expanded its services to include Wayne County Hospital. Three years later, the clinic moved to its present location in Medpark.
Total Rehab Center is a 10,000-square-foot facility that is unique to this area. It combines a 5,000-square-foot gym and rehab center that can meet the needs of all patients. The clinic specializes in orthopaedic problems to include treatment following surgery, fractures, or injuries.
Randall attributes much of their success to the excellent staff, state-of-the-art equipment, and reputation for providing excellent treatment and service.
“The other thing is to surround yourself with quality people in key positions,” added Parmelee. “We went to school to be clinicians, and that’s what we do best, but we have consultants in specialty areas that do a fantastic job at what they do.”
