Whether you are very young or wise to the ways of the world, every so often each of us has to “get back to the House at Pooh Corner” to spend some tender time with faithful friends.
This classic children’s story, and all your favorite storybook characters, comes to stage in the Children’s Prime Time Theatre performance of A.A. Milne’s “House at Pooh Corner” at 7 p.m. on Friday, March 23, at The Center for Rural Development in Somerset.
The performance, presented by Lake Cumberland Performing Arts in partnership with The Center, is faithfully based on the A.A. Milne classic.
You know their names by heart: Piglet, Eeyore, Tigger, Kanga and Roo, Rabbit, Christopher Robin, and, of course, that loveable bear called Winnie-the-Pooh.
Children are invited to dress as their favorite “Pooh” character at a Pre-Show Event, sponsored by The Center and Clear Channel Lake Cumberland, from 5:30-6:30 p.m. in The Center’s Front Lobby. The Pre-Show Event will include interactive educational activities by the Lake Cumberland Beekeepers Association and an optional child-friendly dinner.
The cost of the meal, complete with hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, and cookies, is $7 for adults and $3.50 for children 12 and younger.
