Around 800 Pulaski County students flexed their creative muscles at EGAT (Exploring Gifts and Talents) Day on March 24 at The Center for Rural Development.
Elementary and middle students identified as gifted and talented by Pulaski County schools were at The Center for the morning session of EGAT. High school students arrived shortly after lunch for the final EGAT session of the day, where they also took part in a series of hands-on, instructional workshop presentations.
Both sessions included presentations in art, music, dance, drama, creativity writing, and leadership taught by professionals and leading experts in their respective fields.
The event was held in The Center’s exhibit hall, four of the five ballrooms, lobby, and theatre.
Lexington Children’s Theatre presented the play, “The Princess Who Lost Her Hair,” during EGAT’s opening session to an audience of approximately 400 elementary and middle school students.
