Promotional materials developed with The Center for Rural Development’s newly launched branding designs and concept captured three prestigious ADDY Awards from the American Advertising Federation’s Lexington Advertising Club at its recent annual awards ceremony.

The Center was awarded two silver ADDYs for its 2010-11 performing arts brochures and new Focus Area and facilities brochures, and a bronze ADDY for a stationery package featuring the organization’s new logo and branding concept.

“We are honored to see our new marketing materials recognized by the American Advertising Federation with The Center’s first-ever ADDY Awards,” Lonnie Lawson, president and CEO of The Center, said. “The Center is very proud of the work we do across our 42-county primary service area in Southern and Eastern Kentucky, and this promotional collateral, which highlights our programs and services, helps us share that story.”

Michael Cornett, director of marketing and public relations for The Center, served as project manager and copywriter, and worked closely with Mary Hemlepp and Nancy Wiser of Wiser, Hemlepp and Associates of Lexington, and designer Trish Noe of Noe Design to conceptualize and create a full series of promotional marketing materials that feature The Center’s new redesigned logo and color-coded branding system.

“The ADDY Awards represent the best of the best in the advertising industry in Kentucky,” Cornett said. “We have assembled an attractive collection of new promotional materials that gives viewers a comprehensive look at the programs and services The Center offers, and in a way that brings our image up to par with some of the top branding among all businesses and organizations in the state.”

The performing arts brochures promoting The Center’s three series—Center Stage, Children’s Prime Time Theatre, and School Time Theatre—were redesigned with a new colorful look and user-friendly guide for all the season’s shows and online ticket sales.

Also new to the marketing campaign are brochures supporting The Center’s four Focus Areas in Leadership, Public Safety, Technology, and Arts & Culture, as well as an updated facilities brochure complete with a map outlining 35,000 square-feet of functional event space.

The American Advertising Federation ADDY Awards is the world’s largest and toughest advertising competition. Every year, more than 60,000 entries are fielded through fifteen districts and 200 member clubs. The competition is three-tiered with local, regional, and national/international levels. The ADDY Awards represent the true spirit of creative excellence.
