As technology changes, businesses, schools, and organizations must be prepared to move forward and find ways to succeed in a fast-paced local, national, and global marketplace.

The Center for Rural Development, a state and national leader in technology based in Somerset, Ky., stands ready to help you leverage today’s top technology to drive sales and increase productivity and profits, and will showcase its state-of-the-art business services and facility at a free Business Services Showcase and Social Media Workshop on Tuesday, Dec. 7, from 11 a.m.-2:30 p.m. (EST), in its spacious South Exhibit Hall.

“The Center strives to serve as your business or organization’s gateway to world-class communication and collaboration,” Lonnie Lawson, president and CEO of The Center, said. “Through our business services, The Center can provide you unprecedented access and connectivity that can position you at the top of today’s high-tech environment.”

The Business Services Showcase will include informational presentations and interactive demonstrations delivered by The Center’s expert technology, training, and events staff at several stations all under one roof in a one-stop-shop style visitors can experience at their own pace.

The event will coincide with the Somerset-Pulaski County Chamber of Commerce monthly meeting at The Center, and guests are invited to arrive early to experience The Center’s showcase prior to and following that meeting.

Additionally, a free Social Media Workshop, set to begin at 1:30 p.m., will be led by Wes Brown, a member of The Center’s web development team. This workshop will highlight ways you can use today’s top social media platforms—including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and Foursquare—to advance your business or organization’s needs.

“The Center is very interested in helping to grow our economy and stimulate job growth,” Larry Combs, director of business services for The Center, said. “We see this as a tremendous opportunity to bring information about current technologies to our business community.”

Throughout the Business Services Showcase, guests will have one-on-one access to The Center’s professional staff and technology experts, and will be able to learn more about what The Center has to offer them in the way of advanced technology and services or in planning their next event.

The showcase will feature six stations on services such as website and graphic design, Web hosting, and Social Media; video production; Network Operations Center (NOC) data hosting and support; distance and online learning; workplace and jobseeker training and videoconferencing; and event space rental at The Center.

The event is open to the public and provided at no charge to the business community. Participants who visit all of the booth stations will be eligible to win a new Flip Video Camera courtesy of The Center as the grand door prize.
